  Introduction Among the numerous monuments that define India's architectural heritage, Humayun's Tomb occupies a distinctive position as the earliest fully developed imperial mausoleum of the Mughal Empire. Constructed between 1565 and 1572 CE under the patronage of Empress Bega Begum (Haji Begum), the tomb commemorates Emperor Humayun, the second Mughal ruler and father of Emperor Akbar.
