  Introduction Among the numerous monuments that define India's architectural heritage, Humayun's Tomb occupies a distinctive position as the earliest fully developed imperial mausoleum of the Mughal Empire. Constructed between 1565 and 1572 CE under the patronage of Empress Bega Begum (Haji Begum), the tomb commemorates Emperor Humayun, the second Mughal ruler and father of Emperor Akbar. More than a funerary monument, it represents a decisive turning point in the evolution of Indo-Islamic architecture by introducing a new architectural language that integrated Timurid planning principles, Persian aesthetics, Central Asian traditions, and indigenous Indian craftsmanship.
